The Old Rectory has stood for over 500 years, though it was “modernised” in 1812 by the great-grandson of Sir Christopher Wren who lived in the house for 40 years.
The site itself is steeped in history; the Doomsday Book listed a building here, and along one boundary of the grounds runs the original Roman built Icknield Street.
The beautiful gardens with their rhododendrons, Portuguese laurel, old oak, cedar, silver birch and weeping ash trees beckon to be explored

At The Old Rectory Hotel, we offer a fully inclusive wedding service and are registered to conduct civil Wedding services. After the service you and your invited guests can enjoy the surroundings in this beautiful hotel, relax in the bar whilst the wedding photographs are taken, and then have your wedding reception in one of our function rooms, followed perhaps by an evening Disco/dance.

In this historic and peaceful setting, your business meetings, small conferences and training sessions will be at their most productive. We have several different rooms to accommodate varying sizes of group. Breakout rooms, the grounds and garden are also available for your use.
